The role

Our team is rapidly growing, and we are looking for an experienced Marketing Executive who enjoys, and excels at, building relationships. This role touches many aspects of the Xledger marketing function but is weighted towards our events and sponsorship strategy, as well as supporting with the development of our partner relationships.

As a Marketing Executive ready for the next step or Senior Marketing Executive looking for a new challenge within a fast-growing organisation, you will contribute to and develop marketing campaigns that promote the Xledger brand and product to finance and accountancy professional audiences, and continue to establish Xledger as a key player in the business and sports communities.

This is a pivotal role within the Marketing team that will see the planning and execution of both direct and partner event activities (in both face to face and online capacities) and campaigns, as well as Xledger sponsorship programme, including Bristol Sport. It’ll benefit from the support of an Intern and a Junior Executive (recruitment in progress) – both resources shared with one other Senior Marketing Executive.

 

Your focus will be on leading the creation and implementation of campaigns that deliver impact by:

  • Working with the direct sales team to identify opportunities and define our event strategy across our key verticals to feed our demand and lead generation funnel. Ensuring our approach to events is designed and optimised to our audiences, their needs and expectations.
  • Managing the pre-, during and post- event communications: creating content that will engage our audiences in a way that converts in leads.
  • Driving joint-marketing events with our Partners and supporting the development of activities, with the view to create and maintain robust and long-lasting Partner relations by developing brand awareness and driving incremental business.
  • Collaborating with the rest of the marketing team to deliver compelling and targeted content to decision-makers (such as customer case studies, social media posts, blogs) and being responsible for the performance and optimization of the above.
  • Working with Bristol Sport partners and PR agency to plan and drive our programme of events, activities and campaigns. As one of the main sponsors of Bristol Sport clubs (Bears, Bears women, Bears Academy, Flyers), our involvement goes beyond a brand exposure exercise and is a true multi-season commitment to uniting our community through sport achievements.

Main responsibilities

  • Support development of marketing strategies with a focus on education and acquisition
  • Organise and deliver a range of events within our target verticals
  • Help create, develop and deliver a programme of offline events
  • Liaise with third party agencies for PR and creative content support
  • Produce regular reports on campaign performance
  • Report to the Marketing Manager, submitting weekly timesheets and 15Five feedback

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Minimum 2+ years proven experience as marketing executive or similar role
  • Strong event planning experience and willingness to travel to events
  • Experience scoping and delivering online events such as roundtables and webinars.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and marketing software (e.g. CRM, WordPress, MailChimp)
  • Proficient with social media and web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Hootsuite)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Familiar with Adobe suite – Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator
  • Creativity and commercial awareness

Desired qualifications and experience

  • BSc/BA in marketing, business administration or relevant discipline
  • Previous experience working for a finance software company

  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to strive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • An interest in cloud finance software
