We had the chance to sit down with April Perez, a Colorado Springs native and Visit COS’ Director of Finance, to discuss how Xledger helps support Visit COS in its efforts to advance the destination.

Visit COS (Colorado Springs) is a destination marketing organization funded primarily by the City of Colorado Springs’ lodging and auto rental tax that allows tourists and locals to discover more about the many adventures available in the Pikes Peak region. The information center markets to leisure travelers across the U.S. and various business groups seeking unique and engaging conference sites. Director of Finance Perez states, “Visit COS brings billions of dollars to the city through its efforts and seeks to provide more accessible accommodations and services for both visitors and Colorado locals.”

Previously, Visit COS used an old accounting system that required manually entered data, taking up considerable time in their workday. Their previous program was also not cloud-compatible, which made it difficult for Visit COS employees to adapt to working in a post-pandemic world that often requires remote access to information.

When considering what new ERP solution to switch to, Xledger made sense for Visit COS. Perez loved how Xledger USA, also located in Colorado Springs, was “right in our backyard.” While sharing the same neighborhood was exciting to Perez, she also chose to make the switch due to Xledger’s cost, cloud capabilities, and Visit COS’ automation needs.

Compared to other competitors, Perez felt that Xledger had a strong and respectful sales approach. She also liked how with Xledger, the preferred solutions were all built in. Xledger strives to offer our customers affordable, fair, and competitive pricing.

Regarding Xledger automation, “This was a game changer,” stated Perez. With the help of Xledger’s thoroughly automated accounting software solution, once manual tasks are fully or partially automated for the Visit COS team, they will save them time and, ultimately, money. Perez highlighted that “Xledger has significantly streamlined our accounting processes, which has given us great visibility and control over our finances.”

When asked what Perez would say to those considering Xledger, she stated, “I would brag about the automation and explain that if you are looking for a software that will help you get your time back, that’s Xledger.” She emphasized that bank reconciliations are easier and faster than ever before and that the Visit COS team “has seen improvements in how we spend our time in our jobs.” Their work also became more manageable due to Xledger’s cloud-based accounting software. Perez noted how easy it is to give multiple managers access to run their own reports.

Perez’s favorite features of Xledger include the drag-and-drop function, how organized viewing invoices can be, and Xledger’s OCR (Optical Character Recognition) capabilities. Visit COS strives to be an environmentally friendly presence in the community, providing resources regarding hiking trail etiquette and promoting sustainable initiatives within the community. Perez explained how, with Xledger, “we have eliminated a lot of paper waste,” aligning with the information center’s and Xledger’s commitment to protecting the environment.

Xledger strives to work alongside businesses and align their goals with our own. Perez touched on the various ways our support team has assisted her throughout this process and how they have built a relationship over time. She expressed feeling comfortable talking to the team and addressing them when she does not understand something or needs assistance.
