Do you have a specific number of hours you are supposed to work in a week? Do you know what it’s called when you work over that number?

Overtime.

However, overtime is also the group term to describe the typically raised pay rate employees enjoy when working during exceeding hours.

While this is commonly time and a half, certain companies like to think that they are BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE and play by their own rules with their rates.
